Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information Torento Technology Solutions collects, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Who this covers
Torento Technology Solutions (ABN 75 188 766 077) is bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy applies to our website, our enquiry form, and the information we handle while delivering services to you.
What we collect
From the website, we collect only what you type into the enquiry form: your name, email address, an optional phone number, the topic you selected, and the message you wrote.
While delivering services we may also hold business contact details, site addresses, network diagrams and system configuration relating to the work. We do not collect sensitive information as defined in the Privacy Act, and we do not ask for it.
How we use it
Enquiry details are used to respond to you and, if we go ahead, to quote and deliver the work. Service records are used to support and maintain what we built.
We do not sell your information, we do not add you to a marketing list without asking, and we do not use your data to train anything.
Analytics and cookies
This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies and embeds no third-party trackers. Our host, Cloudflare, processes standard request logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) to serve the site and defend it from abuse.
If we later add analytics, this section will name the product and what it records before it goes live.
Who else sees it
Enquiries are delivered by email through our mail provider and stored in our mailbox. Service records may sit in the cloud platforms we use to run the business. Each provider is bound by its own contractual and privacy obligations.
Some of these providers store data outside Australia. By sending an enquiry you consent to that transfer. We disclose information to no one else unless you ask us to, or the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become work are deleted within twelve months. Records relating to work performed are kept for seven years to meet tax and business record obligations, then destroyed or de-identified.
Security
We apply to our own systems the controls we recommend to clients: multi-factor authentication on every account that supports it, least-privilege access, encrypted storage and transport, and tested backups. No system is perfect, and we will tell you promptly if a breach is likely to cause you serious harm, as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Email hello@torento.com.au and we will respond within thirty days.
If you are unhappy with how we handled a privacy matter, tell us first so we can fix it. If you are still unsatisfied you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes
We will update this page if our practices change, and the date at the top will change with it.
